The 14th joint meeting of Coast Guard directors of Qatar and Iran took place in Doha yesterday.
The meeting explored a number of topics related to coastal security between both countries.
The meeting was chaired by the Director of Coasts and Borders Security Department, Staff Brigadier (Navy) Ali Ahmed al-Badeed, and commander of the Iranian border guards, Brigadier General Qassem Rezayee.
Al-Badeed said the meeting comes as part of the agreement signed between Qatar and Iran to co-ordinate efforts between the coast and borders security departments to discuss security issues and means of strengthening them regarding maritime channels and other topics related to coastal security and borders.
