Since its inception last year, the centre has organised many inter-school, inter-organisation, and inter-community multiple tournaments in table tennis, volleyball, swimming, athletics, cricket, and football. The ISC has been collaborating with different sport federations of Qatar. In addition to organising tournaments and coaching camps, ISC has also been finding the talents from the Indian community to promote them in respective sports.
The center has constituted various sports excellence awards for the school students, adults and sports organisations. ‘Excellence in Sports Award 2018 for Boys and Girls’ is for the students up to 19-year-old.
‘Excellence in Sports Award 2018 for Men and Women’ is for any Indian or person of Indian origin in adult category, 21-year-old and above. The award will be given on the merit and for the achievements by individuals in sports during the tenure in educational institutions, at district,state, national and international levels as well as for the achievements in Qatar.
‘Best Sports Organisation of the Year Award’ is for any Indian organisation, schools or Indian managed or owned companies for the domestic and international achievements. The awards for all categories will be decided on the bases of nominations either from the individuals or from organisations/schools. The winners will be decided by a jury board to be nominated by the ambassador of India in Qatar, who is also the chief patron of ISC. The awards will be given on the occasion of the ISC sports excellence day 2018, on April 28 at Radisson Blu Hotel – Giwana Ball Room.
