Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed blankets to 23,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Eastern Ghouta to alleviate their suffering, especially in the bitter winter. 

Also, the charity has said in a statement that it is preparing to implement a number of projects in the field of food, health and shelter for the newly displaced persons living under difficult humanitarian conditions.
The aid is provided as part of QC’s ‘Affected by Winter’ campaign, which is devoted to lessening the suffering of displaced people and refugees affected by the winter around the world, particularly those displaced from Eastern Ghouta, as their number exceeded 120,000 people.
Last month, Qatar Charity managed to distribute relief aid to more than 6,000 people in the besieged Eastern Ghouta as part of its urgent and repeated responses to lessen the suffering of the people living there in the difficult humanitarian conditions.
Recently, 1,470 families with 8,350 members, affected by the Eastern Ghouta siege, have benefited from QC’s aid that has been provided at a cost of over QR1mn, the statement notes. 
The charity has provided ambulances and non-food items to the people of Eastern Ghouta in addition to the emergency relief project, which included the distribution of food baskets. 
Qatar Charity projects for the relief of affected Syrians have benefited more than 16.2mn displaced people and refugees in the areas of food, shelter, health and education from April 2011 until the end of December 2017, at a cost of about QR544.5mn, the statement adds.
QC has said it is grateful to all those who have contributed to its relief campaigns since the beginning of the crisis, to support the affected Syrian people within and outside the country. The charity has further appealed to philanthropists, both Qataris and residents, to continue their support for the Syrian people. 
QC launched its ‘Affected by Winter’ campaign to support displaced people and refugees affected by the bitter winter and heavy rain in Syria, Iraq, Palestine and places with Rohingya refugees.
