About 50 pedestrian bridges are in different stages of planning and construction across Doha and some of its immediate neighbourhoods and of many of them are expected to be completed by the end of next year, a senior Ashghal official told Gulf Times on Tuesday.
"We are working in co-ordination with the Ministry of Transport and Communications on this vital issue and on the basis of the recommendations of the ministry, such bridges are being conceived, designed and erected in the most appropriate locations," said official.
The official also said works of some of the pedestrian bridges across Airport Road, near Qatar Airways headquarters and others on the northern side are in full swing and they are expected to be delivered as soon as possible.
