The Ministry of Municipality and
Environment’s Agriculture Affairs Department in co-operation with the
Natural Protectorates Department launched yesterday a project to
cultivate trees in Rawdat Al Samriya in Al Sheehaniyah Area. As part of
the project, 150 seedlings of the wild trees of Qatar (Samar, Sint,
Ghaf, Salam, Murkh, Sidr, Owsaj) were planted. The initiative started in
2014, is aimed at conservation of Qatari wild trees. The event was
attended by Yousef Khalid al-Khelaifi, director of the Agriculture
Affairs Department and a number of other officials.
