The `Iqlit' (Welcome) expo, being organised by a group of women entrepreneurs, including many from Qatar, under the banner of Villa Queen events at the newly opened Tawar Mall is receiving good patronage from shoppers.

The exhibition, featuring no less than 50 booths dealing mainly in apparels designed in Qatar and several other countries of the region, is going on at the Panorama section on the third floor of the sprawling mall.
Speaking to Gulf Times  at the exhibition, Najila al-Shafiee, one of the main organisers said they have exhibitors from such destinations as Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, Turkey and Morocco, besides Qatar.
"We are extremely pleased with the response from the visitors in the first two days and we hope the event would continue to receive the same kind of patronage in the next six days as well," she said, while adding that the expo is being held as part of their preparations ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Another participant said the expo attracted more than 2,000 visitors each on the first two days. "Though, we are offering mainly materials sought by women, the exhibition has on display several things to cater to the requirements of Arab men as well," she said. The stall owner noticed that though an overwhelming number of visitors were Arab women, customers from many other nationalities are also supporting the event.
Besides traditional and ethnic Arabic apparels, the exhibitors have also showcased large varieties of accessories, handcrafted jewellery, utensils, dates, crockery ware, perfumes, bed sheets and fashion ware. The eight-day exhibition will run until April 7, between 10 am and 10 pm.
