Ahmed bin Mohamed Military College held yesterday the fourth military colleges’ forum in the presence of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiy.
The two-day event, held under the title ‘Academic Military Education In Light of the Current Challenges’, is witnessing the participation of eight major countries from different regions around the world.
The forum aims to join efforts and establish important and distinct partnerships as well as strengthen co-operation with the corresponding colleges in the friendly countries with advanced expertise in the field of military academic education.
In his opening speech, Commander of Ahmed bin Mohamed Military College Major General Fahad Mubarak al-Khayareen stressed the keenness of the college to hold the forum on a regular basis because of its great importance in promoting discussion and dialogue with the corresponding colleges to meet the challenges and propose solutions on academic military education by experts.
Al-Khayareen stressed that the candidate is the goal of the college and its main task is to develop his performance and upgrade his military and academic level to enable him to become a qualified decision-making leader equipped with the latest methods of training, knowledge, science, and values of loyalty to the homeland.
The forum is being attended by eight friendly countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Turkey, France, Canada, and Malaysia, to benefit from the experts’ suggestions and experiences, he added.
He noted that the college benefited greatly from the previous sessions of this forum in various aspects, foremost of which is to take into consideration many recommendations in the continuous development of military and academic programmes to meet the standards recognised in the academic military field.
Meanwhile, the Dean of Academic Affairs at Ahmed bin Mohamed Military College Dr Khalid bin Nasser al-Khater said in press remarks that the academic and military programmes at the college are among the best level in the world, noting that this distinction came as a result of the various partnerships with the corresponding military colleges.
Al-Khater pointed out that academic military colleges in various countries of the world, including Qatar aim to graduate a committed, qualified officer capable of decision-making and who has many scientific and cultural skills.
Al-Khater said that the college seeks to be one of the best military colleges in the region and the world by selecting an academic cadre of experts and specialists in this field, as well as by establishing internal and external partnerships with friendly countries and the corresponding universities.
He said that the military institutions participating in the forum are very advanced and have extensive experience and history in the field of military academia.
