The Qatari Calendar House has announced that the sky of the State of Qatar and the countries of the Arab region will witness the ‘Blue Moon’ phenomenon on Saturday (March 31) for the second time this year.

The first Blue Moon phenomenon for this year occurred on January 31.

Astronomer at the Qatari Calendar House Dr. Bashir Marzouk said that people in Qatar and all the Arab countries will be able to enjoy the vision of the last Blue Moon of this year with naked eye or using modern digital cameras to obtain images of the moon from Saturday evening until the early hours of Sunday.

He explained that the moon will shine above the eastern horizon of the sky of Doha at 5:51 pm on Saturday, and will end at 6:06 am on Sunday.

It is expected that the next Blue Moon phenomenon will occur in October, 2020.
