Al Wakrah Municipality topped the issuance of building permits in Qatar in February with 156 permits, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) has said in its monthly bulletin.
This accounts for 24% of the total permits issued in the country, MDPS said.
Rayyan Municipality came in second place with 136 permits (21%), followed by Doha Municipality (110 permits - 17%) and Al Da'ayen Municipality (83 permits-13%).
The figures from other municipalities are Umm Slal (62 permits -10%), Al Sheehaniya (40 - 6%), Al Khor (36 - 6%) and Al Shamal (17 -3%).
In terms of type of permits issued, data indicates that the new building permits (residential and non-residential) constitute 62% (398 permits) of the total issued during February.
Some 53% (162 permits) of all new residential buildings permits were issued for constructing villas, MDPS noted.
