The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Thursday it has taken measures to withdraw the medicine Lipodar, which is used to reduce blood cholesterol levels, and stop its import in co-ordination with the local agent of the manufacturer.
The drug is produced by Dar Al Dawa.
The MoPH measure is based on a decision of the Gulf Central Committee for Drug Registration which had previously decided to suspend the drug on the grounds that it did not conform to specifications of the original product.
