HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani met on Thursday with the head of Qatar-Turkey Business Council and member of the directors' board at the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), Ethem Sancak, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting, which was attended by Turkey's ambassador to Qatar Fikret Ozer, discussed joint co-operation aspects especially in the economic, trade and investment fields and ways to develop them.
The meeting also focused on promoting relations between businessmen in both countries. In addition, the meeting discussed the use of joint capabilities to serve investment in both countries and in other parts of the world.
Qatar and Turkey hold strong economic and trade relations, which positively reflected on the trade volume amounting to QR4.9bn in 2017.
A number of trade agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed, including an economic and technical co-operation agreement; encouragement and mutual protection of investments agreement, and an MoU on facilitating transport and transit to strengthen economic, commercial and investment co-operation between the two countries.
