Qatar Airways has released a special Mother’s Day video, highlighting the role a mother plays in ensuring that her child’s journey through life is a safe one.
“The video, published on the airline’s social media channels on Mother’s Day, honours all mothers for the important part they play in ensuring the safety of their children,” the airline said in a statement.
The video, using the airline’s safety instructions as inspiration, depicts scenes of a child securely putting away toys in the toy box and switching off electronic devices before sleeping, illustrating the key role mothers play in making sure their children’s environment is safe and secure.
Qatar Airways senior vice-president (marketing and corporate communications) Salam al-Shawa said, “we are delighted to publish this emotional video on Mother’s Day, as it pays special tribute to the important role mothers play in providing for the safety of their children.
“As an airline, we are delighted to welcome both parents and children on board, and to ensure that their journey is both enjoyable and inspiring. Qatar Airways wishes all mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day.”
Earlier this week, Qatar Airways launched a new initiative for children, the Oryx Kids Club, a special frequent flyer programme designed for the airline’s youngest travellers.
Oryx Kids Club gives children the opportunity to enjoy value-added benefits while travelling with Qatar Airways, including the ability to earn Qmiles, which can be redeemed for attractive awards.
Parents will play a key role in enrolling their children in the programme and assist them in managing their accounts, making this an “exciting opportunity for both parents and children to experience together”, the statement notes.
The Oryx Kids Club and Oryx Kids Loyalty Programme will also offer children special new in-flight meal boxes and plush toys on board, featuring Qatar Airways’ new hero mascots, twin brother and sister Orry and Orah the oryx, and their friends Kamil the camel, Faaiz the falcon and Farah the desert fox.
The new hero mascots will feature on the airline’s website, in marketing material and in all literature and activity packs given to children when they fly long-haul, as well as at special appearances at Hamad International Airport (HIA).
All that parents need to do is register with the Oryx Kids Club at www.qatarairways.com.qa as part of the booking process, to make sure their children can join in all the fun on board.
