Qatar players trained yesterday at the Aspire Zone ahead of their departure to Basra, Iraq, to take part in the International Friendly Championship from March 22 to 27. The Felix Sanchez’s 21-member squad will leave Doha today. Qatar will play matches against hosts Iraq and Syria that comes against the backdrop of a three-week break in the QNB Stars League of which Week 21 games were played on March 17. The squad includes many promising players who were part of the third place-winning team at the Asian Under-23 Championship in China in January this year.
