Emir sends greetings to Ireland’s leader
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani sent yesterday cables of congratulations to Ireland’s President, Michael D Higgins, on his country’s National Day. HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also sent a similar cable to Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.

Qatar condemns Kabul bombings
Qatar has strongly condemned the bombing in the Afghan capital Kabul which killed three people and injured several other. In a statement yesterday, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Qatar’s firm stance in rejection of violence and terrorism regardless of the motives and reasons.
