the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser
bin Khalifa al-Thani participated in the opening of the 35th session of
Arab Interior Ministers Council, held at the International Conference
Center at the Algerian capital yesterday.
The session was attended by
the interior ministers of the Arab countries, high-level security
delegations and representatives from the Arab League, Gulf Co-operation
Council, Arab Maghreb Union, International Criminal Police Organisation
(Interpol), International Civil Defence Organisation, Arab Tourism
Organisation, Arab Authority for Civil Aviation, Naif Arab University
for Security Sciences and Arab Police Sports Federation.
The session
discussed a number of topics on the agenda such as the report of the
Arab Interior Ministers Council secretary-general on the work of the
secretariat between the 34th and 35th sessions, ninth Arab security
draft plan, seventh Arab media briefing for security awareness draft
plan and crime prevention.
The participants will also discuss sixth
phase of the Arab strategy for traffic safety draft plan, draft plan to
implement the Arab strategy for intellectual security. In addition, the
sessions will discuss recommendations issued by conferences and meetings
held within the secretariat, results of the joint meetings between Arab
and international institutions during 2017, in addition to a number of
other important topics.

the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser
bin Khalifa al-Thani met yesterday in the Algerian capital Algiers with a
number of Arab ministers of interior taking part in the 35th session of
Arab Interior Ministers Council.
The Prime Minister met with
Palestine’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Rami al-Hamdellah,
Iraq’s Minister of Interior Qasim al-Araji, Lebanon’s Minister of
Interior and Municipalities Nohad El Machnouk, Somalia’s Minister of
Internal Security Mohamed Abukar Islow Dualle, Jordan’s Minister of
Interior Samir Mubaidin.
The meetings focused on bilateral ties and
the means to enhance them in all fields, particularly security-related
ones. They also discussed a number of subjects on the agenda of the 35th
session of Arab Interior Ministers Council.
PM meets Algerian counterpart: The Prime Minister met yesterday Algeria’s Prime
Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.
During
the meeting, they discussed the bilateral co-operation and the means of
boosting them in various fields. They also reviewed the latest
developments in the Arab world and
internationally.
