Investigators in Dubai on Tuesday closed their probe into the death of Bollywood superstar Sridevi Kapoor, and handed her body over to relatives.
Her body was embalmed and will be flown to Mumbai for her cremation, expected in the next couple of days.
The 54-year-old actress died on Saturday in Dubai, where she was attending a family wedding. 
A post-mortem report showed that she died due to accidental drowning in her hotel apartment's bath after she lost consciousness.
"Dubai Public Prosecution has approved the release of the body of the Indian actress Sridevi to her family following the completion of a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of her death," the Dubai government's media office said on Twitter.
Dubai's prosecution stressed "all regular procedures followed in such cases were completed" and "the case has now been closed."
The actress' shock death has left the Indian film industry and millions of fans in India and around the world heartbroken. Media reports said since the body was expected to arrive late on Tuesday night, with her funeral likely to take place on Wednesday.
Sridevi featured in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada language films before making her debut in Bollywood in 1978. 
She was married to film producer Boney Kapoor with whom she had two daughters.
