Doha Municipality on Sunday inaugurated the annual Children’s Drawing Competition and Exhibition, organised by the health control section in the Municipal Control Department under the theme ‘Little observers and their role in maintaining food hygiene’, QNA reported.
The exhibition, which is scheduled to run until March 22, is part of Doha Municipality’s interest in spreading health awareness among school students and introducing them to the scientific aspects of food hygiene and handling methods, to avoid diseases transmitted by it, in addition to educating children about healthy food.
More than 80 public and private, elementary and intermediate schools are participating in the exhibition, which was opened by Doha Municipality director Jamal Matar al-Nuaimi. The exhibition features several paintings on food hygiene and nutrition. It aims at engaging students in practical activities related to the exhibition theme.
