Chairman of Qatar National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, ambassador Mohammed al-Emadi, met on Thursday with UN special co-ordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nikolay Mladenov, to discuss the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza. 
A statement from the committee said that ambassador al-Emadi updated the UN official on the outcome of his meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdellah, and the good indicators the latter provided regarding the resolution of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They focused specifically on the ministry of health’s crisis and providing hospitals with the necessary medical equipment and medicine. 
Al-Emadi noted that the deteriorating humanitarian conditions prompted Qatar to provide urgent aid to the people of the strip, based on the directives of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani who ordered a grant worth $9mn to Gaza. 
The chairman also discussed Qatar’s effort in the reconstruction of Gaza, updating the UN official on the amount of projects currently being carried out by Qatar there. (QNA)
