The 13th Doha Interfaith Conference will begin today.
The two-day event organised by the Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue under the theme “Religions and Human Rights,” will be attended by 50 participants from 70 countries.
The conference will discuss three main themes, the first of which is the vision and concept of human rights in religions.
That theme will focus on topics related to freedom of religion, preservation of human dignity, prohibition of corruption, the rights of minorities, and the right to a peaceful coexistence between people of different faiths, and public interest including personal freedom.
This theme will also discuss community values and the right to justice and equality, freedom of thought, expression and information, the right to litigation, defence, freedom of movement and the inviolability of the home and the role of religious teachings in the development of social responsibility of individuals. 
The second theme will focus on the position of religions vis-a-vis violations of human rights.
Talks will focus on issues such as religious views on extremism and terrorism.
The third theme will discuss human rights issues between heavenly laws and international covenants, which will include the religious perspective of human rights in times of peace and conflict, the position of heavenly laws and international laws from the siege of states and the protection of civilians from the dangers of military operations, the religious and legal position towards victims of war and conflict.
