Ibn Ajayan Projects (IAP), managers of the Asian Town and Labour City projects, celebrated National Sport Day with a number of activities at Asian Town.
The programme began with a fun bicycle race at 8am in front of the Asian Town Cricket Stadium.
This was followed by sports competitions such as basketball (male), volleyball (male and female), cycling, skating, team-building/obstacle relay, a karate demonstration class, poster-painting competition, tug-of-war competition in association with the Indian Sports Centre, cricket match, cricket ‘bowled out’ competition, sepak takraw, a car show and kids’ sports meet.
The winners were awarded trophies and gifts.
Ibn Ajayan Projects, organisers of the event, distributed special Sport Day T-shirts and other gifts to all participants of the games and fun race. Thousands of expatriates from the Indian and Filipino communities participated in the event, the organisers said in a statement.
The tug-of-war competition was organised by the Indian Sports Centre and Ibn Ajayan Projects.
