Al Khaliji Commercial Bank (al khaliji), with the aim of promoting health and wellness among the local community, celebrated the seventh National Sport Day by organising a ping pong tournament and also launched an Instagram campaign, #PlayForQatar, on the same occasion. The tournament was held from February 11 to 13 at Doha Festival City, between 2pm and 9pm. The sporting activity “received an overwhelming response from the local community” “and “attracted huge participation”, the statement noted. Meanwhile, the Instagram competition saw a “big wave of engagement”, the bank said. The first online draw on Instagram was held, and a winner was picked from the ‘correct answers’ pool as well as the second winner just after the ping pong tournament was completed. The two winners headed home with an iPhone X each. Rana Ahmad al-Asaad, head of Personal Banking at al khaliji, said: “We, at al khaliji, strive to create awareness about the importance of embracing a healthy and active lifestyle. Studies have proven that regular exercise can improve mental and physical performance as well as time-management skills, leading to a more efficient and productive workforce.”
