Ashghal held a series of events on Tuesday to mark the National Sport Day. The events were held in the presence of Ashghal president Saad bin Ahmed al-Muhannadi, assistant president Abdullah Hamad al-Atiyya along with directors, managers and employees.
Ashghal, in collaboration with Qatar Cycling Federation (QCF), organised a cycling ride on the dedicated path on the Arab League Street in Duhail. Top officials and staff along with QCF secretary Jamal Abdullateef al-Kuwari and other riders took part.
Ashghal also held bike rides on cycling lanes on Ras Abu Abboud Road, Al Rufaa Street, and Al Sheehaniya Leatooriya Road. 
Also, Ashghal conducted some events in co-operation with the United Development Company (UDC) at The Pearl Qatar’s Qanat Quartier where Ashghal’s directors, managers and employees took part. The activities involved football, volleyball, fitness along with entertainment for the children.

On the occasion, al-Muhannadi said Ashghal’s sport activities this year focused on the cycling lanes since it completed works on hundreds of kilometres of roads or expressways or on the local approaches. The cycling paths aim to to ensure safety. 
“Ashghal achieved 242km of cycling tracks on expressways to reach 110km in 2018 and built 987km of the paths on the local roads amounting to 239km in 2018.”. 
Al-Muhannadi stressed that Ashghal has been interested in organising various sport activities for its employees throughout the year or during the holy month of Ramadan. Ashghal also encouraged its staff to practise sport regularly, providing halls with all sport equipment and skilled trainers.
