Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum denounced President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare reforms yesterday on the steps of the US Supreme Court, where nine justices this week are weighing the law.
Calling the law among “the most fundamental issues of the day,” Santorum said he was the best Republican candidate to take on Obama over his healthcare reforms.
Mitt Romney instituted similar reforms while governor of Massachusetts and is, Santorum argued, in no position to challenge Obama in the general election over healthcare policies that conservatives believe give government too much control over personal decisions.
