Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is offering public tours of the three state-of-the-art hospitals at Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City to individuals and community groups until February 1.

The tours highlight some of the special features and services within the Women’s Wellness and Research Center (WWRC), the Qatar Rehabilitation Institute (QRI), and the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC).
Interested members of the public can register for the tour via the website www.newhmchospitals.qa which also allows visitors to take a virtual tour of the facilities and their innovative approach to care.
Tours led by HMC staff will provide a close look at the new hospitals as well as a behind the scenes view of the equipment and facilities required to deliver high-quality care to each and every one of HMC’s patients.
WWRC, the largest women’s tertiary hospital in Qatar, has a capacity for up to 17,000 births per year. The new hospital, which offers a number of specialised outpatient clinics for obstetrics and gynaecology, is equipped with a large emergency department, an expanded visitor waiting area, seven operating theatres, 26 delivery rooms, and 240 private inpatient rooms with bathrooms.
In addition, the WWRC has over 100 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cots for the care of critically ill newborns. The facility is also staffed with over 2,000 highly trained clinicians who have extensive experience in gynaecology, obstetrics, and newborn care.
QRI, a modern, world-class hospital offering patients integrated rehabilitative services and specialised care, is one of the largest rehab facilities in the region. QRI will significantly expand HMC’s capacity to care for recovering patients with its high-quality facilities which include 11 rehabilitation gyms and seven hydrotherapy pools.
ACC, a first of its kind facility in Qatar, offers patients a range of elective surgical procedures that require less than 23 hours of hospitalisation as well as limited inpatient care services. The facility is equipped with 66 beds, 14 operating theaters and a pre-assessment clinic where patients undergo a thorough medical evaluation to ensure readiness for surgery. It also offers patients urology, podiatry, and gastroenterology outpatient services. Otolaryngology, audiology, and ophthalmology outpatient services will commence shortly.
This expansion demonstrates HMC’s commitment to improving the lives of patients by providing timely access to world-class specialist care delivered in state-of-the-art facilities. The new Medical City complex represents the biggest healthcare facility expansion in the region and will bring new services and care options to the people of Qatar.
