Ooredoo, in partnership with Netgear, announced yesterday the launch of an advanced MESH Wi-Fi system for Qatar, as the company continues to invest in the latest technology to enable their customers to truly enjoy the Internet.
The Netgear MESH Orbi Tri-band Wi-Fi system, a CES Innovation Awards Honoree, has been designed to provide high-bandwidth and Wi-Fi coverage throughout every corner of a home and is the world’s first MESH networking system to leverage Netgear’s patented FastLane3 technology that has the unique capability of providing a dedicated wireless channel between the Orbi router and each Orbi satellite.
Ooredoo said it is the first service provider in the Middle East region to offer MESH Wi-Fi for consumers.

The Orbi Tri-band Wi-Fi MESH device comes in a dual pack, comprising of a router unit and a satellite. The satellite unit should be positioned somewhere central in the home, and is the fastest Wi-Fi system on the market, with the ability to provide speeds of up to 1,266Mbps, cover up to a 5,000-sq ft space, and connect more than 20 devices at once. The two-unit MESH device has been designed to be the ideal router for large villas, especially where residents are using the Ooredoo tv service, streaming films or music, and gaming.
The Orbi Tri-band Wi-Fi MESH service by Netgear is available now in Ooredoo Shops. Ooredoo has announced it will offer the service on monthly payment plans of 12 or 24 months for all new Fibre Home plans.
