Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) is organising its annual dance festival on today. The event will start at 5pm and will be held at Birla Public School auditorium.
The dance festival is culmination of the efforts of the students who have been studying dance at the ICC for last one year. At the festival the students will have their first official performance called “Arangettam”.
More than 65 students will participate in the festival. The students have been under the tutelage of ICC dance teachers Metilda Solomon and Bhavana Sagar Naik. Metilda Solomon is a veteran dance teacher, who has been teaching classical dance at ICC for over eight years. She is specialised in teaching Bhartanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam.
Bhavana Sagar Naik also a versatile dance teacher with many years of experience. She is specialised in Oddissi and Cinematic dances. The performances will include different classical dance varieties such as Pushpanjali, Natesha Kauthuvam, Keerthanam, and Kuchupudi.
