Emir condoles with Iraqi president, PM
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday sent cables of condolences to Iraq President Dr Fuad Masum and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on the victims of the two explosions that took place at the Al Tayaran Square in central Baghdad, wishing speedy recovery for the injured. HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also sent a similar cable to Prime Minister al-Abadi.

Public Hygiene Law from February 1
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s (MME) various municipalities around the country would start enforcing Law No 18 for 2017 on Public Hygiene from February 1. Accordingly, the municipal inspectors would start issuing violation reports, warning and notices in accordance with the stipulations and regulations of the new law. As part of the preparations, HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment has issued ministerial decision No 358 for 2017 to form a work team to prepare the necessary legal tools for implementing and enforcing the new law.
