Jeham al-Kuwari claimed the Flight A title at the Qatar Golf Association
(QGA) Cup beating Ali al-Shahrani in a thrilling finale at the Doha
Golf Club.
Both Kuwari and Shahrani were involved in a tight battle for the top honours in the top category with handicap from 0-9.
And it was the former who managed to hold his game together and grossed 69 to beat Shahrani by a stroke.
Mohamed Hussin won the Flight B (handicap 10 to 28) title with 41
points. Mohamed Taufiq grabbed the second place with 30 points on
countback. Schristine Scholten was the winner in the women’s category,
topping with 42 points. She defeated Marie Rowlands by three points
after some tough battle.
Shahrani bagged the special award for the longest drive. On the sixth
hole, he fired the longest shot to claim the prize. Simon Davies won the
other award closest to the pin. He achieved the prize on the 17th hole.
Lily Ascott earned the title in the junior academy class. Ascott logged
25 points to beat Christaian Prambs, who had just 22. The third place
went to Arsh Metha with 20 points.
