The Fath Al Kheir 3 dhow was received at Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation on Sunday in the spirit of patriotism and brotherhood and to mark the occasion of Qatar National Day.
A special ceremony, titled Al Gaffal, was held to celebrate the arrival of the dhow. Maritime songs, the Qatari Ardha performance and floral decorations on the Katara beach were among the highlights of the ceremony.
The Al Gaffal ceremony was graced by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani and Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti. The dhow returned from voyages to Kuwait and Oman after having left Katara’s shores last month.
