A traffic diversion will be in place on a 1km stretch of Al Khor Road, located after Woqod Petrol Station, for those coming from Doha.
The diversion will start from Tuesday and may last for six months, Ashghal has announced.
Traffic on this stretch of Al Khor Road will be diverted to a newly-constructed temporary road parallel to the closed road, which includes two lanes in each direction (as shown on the map).
The diversion aims to allow the construction of the signal-controlled intersection number 8 on Al Khor Road, which will provide a new route to Al Bayt Stadium.
The traffic diversion is part of a new project to upgrade link roads to Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, which includes the construction of 5.3km of roads, with three lanes in each direction, all leading to four sides of the stadium.
These roads will facilitate access to bus stations and car parking around the stadium.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion, and requested road users to abide by the new speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
