Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) has announced that it is organising a concert, ‘The Planets and British Film Music’, at Abdul Aziz Nasser Theatre, Souq Waqif, at 7.30pm today.
This concert is being held in partnership with British Council and sponsored by HSBC Qatar.
James Shearman is the conductor at the event, QPO has said in a statement.
The works featured at the concert are by Gustav Holst – The Planets; David Arnold – Music from Independence Day; Malcolm Arnold – March from The Bridge on the River Kwai; John Barry – From Out of Africa: Flying Over Africa; and Suite from James Bond 007; and Dana Alfardan – The Beginning, Lustre, Jane Austen, Intertwined and Necromancer.
