Tuskers CC beat Warriors CC by six wickets in the final

Tuskers CC emerged as champions of the Qatar National Bank-Indian Sports Centre T-20 First All Indian Teams Hard Ball Cricket Tournament played at Asian Town Cricket Stadium.
Tusker CC defeated an experienced Warriors CC side in the finals by 6 wickets.
Warriors had won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Zaheer (48) and Suhail (12) gave them a steady start and added 25 runs in 3 overs.
Towards the end, some controlled bowling from Mohsin and Mudassir restricted Warriors CC to 153 for 6 in 20 overs. For Tuskers, Mudassir took two wickets for 20, while Anoop scalped 2 for 34. Aneesh and Prasanth claimed a wicket each.
Tuskers’ reply began on a shaky note after opener Mufiyas was run out in the first over.
But Akash (53) and Deepu (33) got together and put on 86 runs in 10 overs to put Warriors under pressure. Akash was caught out by Zaheer off the bowling of captain Kushal, but not before he had already hammered four sixes and a four.
Aneesh joined Deepu in the middle and the duo took their team closer to the target, before Deepu was out. However, Aneesh’s 30-runs knock was enough to reach the target in 18.5 overs.
For Warriors, Sandeep, Kushal and Aamir got one wicket each.
P Kumaran, Indian ambassador to Qatar, presented the Man of the Finals trophy to Akash for his outstanding batting performance.
Tuskers CC received specially-designed trophies, which were flown in from India. The tournament, organised by Indian Sports Centre (ISC) under the patronage of the Embassy of India, was a huge success with over 2,000 supporters dancing to DJ Shameem’s music to cheer the teams.
