The Career Services Centre (CSC), in collaboration with the College of Engineering (CENG) at Qatar University (QU), recently hosted a visit by French ambassador to Qatar Eric Chevallier.
The visit aimed to discuss collaboration opportunities between CENG and French universities and companies in order to further strengthen the current relations and explore new horizons of co-operation in the field of education and research.
Chevallier was welcomed by CENG dean Dr Khalifa al-Khalifa, Student Development director Haya al-Attiya, CSC director Maha Almarri, CENG associate dean for Academic Affairs professor Abdelmagid Hammuda and CENG assistant dean for Student Affairs AlJazzi Fetais.
The ambassador visited the ‘Discover your Career’ exhibition held by CSC in co-operation with CENG.
Dr al-Khalifa said, “Discussions focused on collaboration opportunities between CENG and French universities and companies to promote academic and research excellence and engage students in various industrial programmes and initiatives to heighten their skills and capacities. This aligns with CENG’s continuous efforts to foster links with local and international institutions.”
Ambassador Chevallier said, “The French embassy is fully committed to find new opportunities of collaboration and strengthen existing relations between QU College of Engineering and French partners, to cover scopes of academic exchanges, research programmes, students training and any mutual initiatives that could benefit both parties. The presence of many French companies at the Career Fair held by CENG demonstrates their willingness to contribute to capacity building and to provide career
opportunities for QU students and graduates.”
