Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday that Moscow is concerned about rising tensions in the Gulf region.

"The growing tensions in the Gulf region are causing concern," Russian news agency TASS quoted Lavrov adding that tensions were not only with Iran but also between Gulf states.
The Russian foreign minister noted that the unrest in the Middle East still exists, saying that "although active terrorists there have suffered a significant blow, the useful experience gained by various forces has not yet led to forming a UN-supported global counter-terrorism coalition."
He added that under these circumstances, serious crises in Libya, Iraq and Yemen continue.
Lavrov said that some of the major agreements, which Russia considers as an example of multilateral cooperation, are now under threat, referring in particular to the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear programme.
