The Central Laboratories Department at Qatar General Organisation for Standardisation has organised a workshop on the new updates to ISO/IEC 17025.
The speakers at the workshop reviewed the new updates to ISO/IEC 17025 for 2017, the amendments and changes that were finally approved this month, and expected that the new version will be issued before the end of this year.
They stressed the importance of this standard for all lab workers in the world, with their various specialities and technical capabilities, as it serves as a standard for accreditation of the activities of laboratories by the international accreditation offices.
They also addressed the special requirements of the accreditation offices.
Qatar attends Arab population councils’ meetings
Qatar’s Permanent Population Committee is taking part in the 18th session of the National Population Councils and Committees of the Arab States, which is being held in the Jordanian capital Amman from November 25 to 28.
HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics Dr Saleh Mohammed Salem al-Nabit is leading Qatar’s delegation to the meetings, the Permanent Population Committee said in a statement yesterday.
The meetings will discuss several important topics related to development and population issues in the Arab world, especially the proposal submitted by Jordan to establish a “High Level Council for Population and Development” within the Arab League system.
