The Ministry of Justice, represented by the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre, and Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for co-operation in the fields of training, legal education and skills development in all legal, academic and professional fields for the preparation and qualification of lawyers and members of various judicial bodies. The MoU was signed by Director of the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre Fatma Abdulaziz Bilal and Chief Legal Officer at QFC Nasser al-Taweel. Under the MoU, the two parties will create opportunities to share their best practices, exchange legal documents, leaflets and magazines, and other means that can contribute to the development of legal knowledge and skills, including training curricula or legal and judicial qualification adopted by the parties.

Interior Ministry holds seminar on security planning
A scientific seminar entitled “Methods of Planning for Modern Training in the Security Work System” began yesterday at the Officers Club of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, in the presence of Adviser to the Minister of Interior and Vice-President of the Supreme Council of the Police College Major General Dr Abdullah Yousuf al-Mal, and a number of officers of the Ministry of Interior. The seminar, organised by the Police College, represented by the Research and Studies Department, will discuss a number of working papers for a number of ministries in the country. It will deal with four main axes: comprehensive planning for modern security training in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030, recent trends in security training planning, ways to enhance partnership, modern techniques and international models in planning and obstacles to planning for modern security training.


QMC chief reviews Qatar-Iraq media relations

HE the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) Chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer al-Thani met Dr Abdulsattar Hadi al-Janabi, charge d’affaires at the embassy of Iraq to Qatar yesterday.
The meeting reviewed media relations between the two countries.

Minister meets ambassadors, UK diplomat
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi met the German ambassador to Qatar Hans-Udo Muzel; and charge d’affaires at the UK embassy Peter Chamberlain yesterday. Regional developments were discussed.
HE al-Muraikhi also met separately with the outgoing ambassadors of South Africa and Somalia, Shirish Soni and Omar Sheikh Ali Idris, respectively.
