Qatar Tennis Federation president Nasser al-Khelaifi has been voted the Chairman of the Asian Tennis Federation, it has been announced. The election of al-Khelaifi was confirmed at yesterday’s Asian Tennis Federation general assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Along with being the Chairman of the ATF, al-Khelaifi is also the current President of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) along with being the current Chairman of French football side Paris Saint-Germain.
Al-Khelaifi has previously represented Qatar in the Davis Cup and has been a keen supporter of Tennis within Qatar down the years.
In 2015, al-Khelaifi was declared the ‘favourite Ligue 1 president’ and in 2016, L’Equipe newspaper named him ‘the most powerful man in French football’.
