Nearly 8km of Al Khor Coastal Road from the east of Lusail International Race Track up to Semaisma Interchange will remain closed for 18 months from Friday.
The closure has been implemented in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, according to a statement from Ashghal, which said road users, currently using Al Khor Coastal Road to travel between Semaisma, Umm Garn, Al Jeryan, Al Khor and Doha, will be required to use Semaisma Road, North Road, and Al Khor Road to reach their respective destinations (as shown on the map).
Commuters using Al Shamal Road to travel to Al Daayen Services Complex should use Exit 29 to reach Semaisma Road and drive straight until they reach the roundabout, then take the first exit and follow the directional signs to reach the services complex.
This closure is required to enable construction works of two new interchanges as part of Al Khor Expressway Project.
Ashghal has advised road users to abide by the speed limits and follow newly implemented traffic road signs to ensure their safety.
