Two flavours – natural and strawberry - of the Rachel’s brand of yoghurt from the UK is now available at all LuLu Hypermarket outlets in Qatar while a third flavour – peach - will follow soon, according to a press statement.
The launch was officiated by Evren Sharma, wife of British ambassador to Qatar Ajay Sharma, at LuLu Hypermarket - Al Gharafa. A number of dignitaries, including Mohamed Althaf, director of LuLu Group International; Lisa Grimshaw, chief commercial officer at British Chamber of Commerce Qatar; Kelly Dunn, legal executive of Charles Russell Speechlys, as well as LuLu management and staff members were present at the launch ceremony.
The “first British-produced, short-life lactose-free yoghurt” will cater to consumers in Qatar, the statement notes, stressing that LuLu Hypermarket is “committed to offer” ‘Free from’ lifestyle choices to people in this country.
The product is “brought directly to Qatar from the organic dairy farm in Wales”, and Rachel’s lactose-free ranges are a “welcome addition to the extensive range of organic yoghurts/desserts currently sold in all LuLu outlets in the region”, the statement adds.
LuLu Hypermarket officials said they were happy to bring the product immediately to Qatar after its launch in England. Y International (UK) Ltd, Birmingham – a British export distribution arm of LuLu Group International - is bringing the products to Qatar.
LuLu Group stressed that it was now in pursuit of adding more products of British origin to their shelves.
