Magar Society recently organised a programme to celebrate Dipawali, the festival of lights, and Hurra, festival of dance. The event was organised at the Al Dalla Driving School in Sanaiya. The programme was chaired by Kabiraj Gurung, the president of Nepal Magar Cultural Association. The programme kicked off with one minute silence for Lakhan Thapa, first martyr of Nepal, and Hem Bahadur Pun Magar, the pioneer of Nepal Magar Association. During the programme, DN Pangi Magar elaborated on the cultural elements of Dipawali and Hurra. Folk singer Prasad Khaptari Magar performed a few of his popular songs. Dancer and model, Rina Thapa Magar performed a dance on a very popular Magar language song. Guest and dancer Kabiraj Magar also performed a folk dance. A large number of people attended.
