Held in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation, the drive is part of Q-Chem’s “continued support for local communities,” the company has said in a press statement.
A fully equipped mobile blood donation unit was deployed to Q-Chem for the community initiative along with a team of medical specialists.
The donation drive started at 8am and continued through the day. “The drive saw great success with a huge turnout of Q-Chem employees, contractors and other company employees working in Amwal Tower,” the statement noted.
Everyone involved in the initiative expressed satisfaction at contributing to the noble cause and highlighted the importance of donation to increase blood bank supplies and to save the lives of those in need. Blood donation and volunteering are in line with Q-Chem’s corporate good citizenship, and the company organises blood donation annually at its multiple locations.
Q-Chem’s CEO, Nasser Jeham al-Kuwari, said: “We are very proud of our staff, who spearheaded this initiative, and would like to thank all those who stepped forward enthusiastically to donate blood. We also extend our gratitude to Hamad Medical Corporation for their invaluable support in organising the campaign and which has become an integral part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme.”
