Qatar’s Julio Donascimento and Ahmed Tijan emerged champions at the AVC Beach Volleyball Tour Grand Front Osaka Open. In the final, they duo defeated Gilang Ramadan and Danangsyah Pribadi 21-15, 21-19. The Indonesians had beaten Qatar’s other pair Jefferson Pereira/Cherif Younousse in the semifinals, but they were thoroughly outplayed by Julio and Tijan.
Pereira and Younousse lost in the bronze medal play-off going down to another Indonesian pair Ade Candra Rachmawan and Mohammad Asfiya 21-17,14-21,15-9. Julio and Tijan had defeated Rachmawan/ Asfiya 21-14, 21-17 in the semi-final.
