AL-Muraikhi meets chairman of Fincantieri
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi met yesterday with Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri chairman Giampiero Massolo. The meeting reviewed ways of enhancing co-operation, as well as issues of mutual concern.
Mercedes Benz G-Class models 2015 recalled
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Automobiles, has announced the recall of Mercedes Benz G-Class models of 2015 because the insufficient tightening torque in screwed joint of steering coupling could cause excessive wear on universal joint under load.
The MEC said that it will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.

Qur’an competition
Over 830 male and female participants have so far registered for the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Holy Qur’an Competition. The registration will continue until October 12 at Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud Hall in Frij Kulaib. Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed competition includes several categories of the Qur’an, including the whole holy book as well as categories of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 chapters for Qatari citizens. It also includes a category for memorisation for residents who are imams, muezzins, teachers and readers of the Qur’an and famous readers and those who have previously won the competition. A third category is for residents in the memorisation of the Qur’an.
Zakat Fund aid QR11mn
The total amount of donations provided by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs’ Zakat Fund in September was over QR11mn. The Zakat Fund said in a press release that the amount included permanent donations provided on a monthly basis for registered families as well as intermittent donations that are provided for specific needs and granted on a one-time basis. The fund said that this aid is provided to beneficiaries in accordance with the Shariah regulations.
