Ooredoo’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus launch event at its HQ1 on Friday night was described “a huge success”.
The event, which was open to those who pre-ordered the new iPhone, gave
new device owners the chance to try out their phones with other Apple
enthusiasts, as well as speak to Ooredoo’s iPhone 8 specialists.
The devices, which are now available in main Ooredoo branches across
Doha via the eShop, feature a new glass and aluminium design in three
finishes — space grey, silver, and a new gold; the devices start at just
QR2,949.
As well as Ooredoo customers, a host of Ooredoo employees attended the event including Ooredoo COO Yousuf Abdulla al-Kubaisi.
On top of the new iPhone devices, the new Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS),
which includes intelligent coaching features, water resistance to 50m, a
70% faster dual-core processor, and a barometric altimeter, is now
available in Ooredoo’s shops and via the eShop.
Ooredoo is an official distributor of Apple in Qatar, and the strong
connection between the two companies means that customers can enjoy the
latest software upgrades and the security of a one-year guarantee for
iPhones.
The new iPhones also have the option to manually switch on VoLTE, which
provides crystal-clear voice quality over Ooredoo’s 4G Supernet network.
To enable VoLTE, iPhone users have to update their iPhone to the latest
iOS version (at least iOS 10.3.0), then go to Settings — Cellular –
Cellular Data Option – Enable 4G, and then ‘Voice & Data’ should be
selected.
