The MoU was signed by QU vice president for Student Affairs Dr Khalid al-Khanji and Injaz Qatar CEO Emad al-Khaja in the presence of officials from both institutions and QU faculty and staff.
The MoU stipulates that Injaz Qatar will provide QU students with training opportunities to enhance their skills in line with the needs of the labour market. Both institutions will also collaborate on organising joint seminars, workshops, and the ‘Career Day’ events.
The agreement also includes collaboration on practical and summer training, lectures, and visits to help youth get a better understanding of the preparation for the labour market, financial culture, and entrepreneurship.
Al-Khanji said: “Qatar University is committed to provide its students with various opportunities that expose them to the labour market. As Qatar’s primary institution of higher education, QU keeps abreast of the fast-growing developments in all sectors of the society.
“We believe that living in a rapidly-changing environment requires the acquisition of essential skills, especially in the field of entrepreneurship and in line with the needs of the labour market, hence this MoU aims to equip our students with the necessary skills that will enable them to respond to the growing demands of the labour market.”
Al Khaja added: “I would like to thank QU for its continuous support since Injaz Qatar’s establishment in 2007. At Injaz Qatar, we mainly focus on providing the society with professional programmes highlighting three main objectives: entrepreneurship, financial culture, and readiness for labour market. These objectives cannot be achieved without the collaboration with local organisations such as QU. We look forward to the outcomes of this collaboration.”
