His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Chile President Michelle Bachelet on the anniversary of her country’s Independence Day.
Katara - Cultural Village Foundation and the Turkish embassy in Doha have agreed to promote cultural co-operation between the two sides in marine heritage by presenting the different aspects of the Turkish marine culture at Katara’s heritage festivals. The agreement came during a meeting that brought together Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, Turkish Ambassador Fikret Ozer, and the director of Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centrein Doha, Mehmet Aykac. The agreement reaffirms the importance of cultural ties between the Qatari and Turkish people, especially since Qatar and Turkey enjoy excellent ties on all fronts.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education said that registration for ‘Ambition Programme’ for secondary school graduates continues for Qataris, children of Qatari women, Qatari-born children, GCC nationals and holders of Qatari documents. The ministry said the first phase of registration process will end on September 30, with the second phase starting on December 1 and ending on December 31. Ambition is a scholarship programme that adopts high school certificate holders who wish to pursue a teaching career.
