Doha Municipality’s health inspection section has conducted an inspection campaign at food establishments in the Al Mamoura area to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
The campaign covered six food outlets and resulted in the issuance of a report for violation of Law No 8 of 1990 regulating human food control.
The violation was issued to a eatery for preparing food in unhealthy conditions and not following the correct procedures for thawing frozen chicken.
Mohamed Buhashim al-Sayed, head of the section, stressed that such initiatives are being implemented by Doha Municipality to detect violations and act as a deterrence in order to ensure public health and safety.
He said the campaigns would continue and cover various areas within Doha Municipality to make sure that the food served to the public complied with the approved standards and regulations.
He said the campaigns include raising awareness at food outlets concerned on best practices in the field of ensuring food safety in order to raise the level of services offered to customers.
