Emir, French president discuss Gulf crisis
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held yesterday evening a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. During the phone call, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways of boosting them in various fields. The two sides also discussed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, especially the developments of the Gulf crisis and its repercussions, and the international efforts to resolve it through diplomatic channels and Kuwait’s mediation efforts.

Attacks in Afghanistan and Sinai condemned
Qatar has strongly condemned the explosion that targeted a convoy of Nato-led mission “Resolute Support” in Afghanistan, which resulted in the injury of two US soldiers and three civilians. In a statement yesterday, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Qatar’s firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons. It wished a speedy recovery for the injured. Meanwhile, Qatar has condemned the attack on Egyptian police in northern Sinai, which resulted in the death and wounding of a number of policemen.
Qatar offered condolences to the families of the victims and the Egyptian people.
