AFG College with the University of Aberdeen will start its new academic year tomorrow. The university hosted its fourth Admissions Open Event at the college campus recently.
AFG College CEO Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh al-Thani, principal Brian Buckley, senior members of the University of Aberdeen, and university teaching faculty were present on the occasion. Large number of prospective students and their family members attended the event.
Year One students will have the induction day tomorrow while September 13 marks the induction day for Year three students, with the official teaching week commencing on September 17. The applicants are encouraged to finalise their enrolment at the earliest as the registration deadline approaches, and spaces for September intake are limited.
Dr Sheikha Aisha said: “At AFG College with the University of Aberdeen, we promise our students a high standard of university education and a platform for a strong future career in business and commerce. Aberdeen University ranks in the top 1% of universities worldwide and we provide a more accessible option for individuals who are seeking a UK university education within Qatar. Students at AFG College with the University of Aberdeen are registered students of Aberdeen and have access to the same teaching and learning resources and lecturing staff at the University’s main campus in the UK.”
Principal Buckley commented: “We were happy to welcome these students and their parents on our Open Day, where they met with our academic teaching staff, inquired about the degree courses available and familiarised themselves with the learning resources offered at the College.”
AFG College with the University of Aberdeen is a newly established university partnership offering undergraduate degrees specialising in, Business Management and Accountancy & Finance. Qualified candidates can enter year three of their chosen degrees with evidence of previous study such as the Higher Diploma from the College of North Atlantic Qatar and relevant qualifications from Community College Qatar.
