Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (pictured) will visit Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates between August 27 and 30, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said. A KUNA report said Lavrov is scheduled to visit Kuwait towards the end of this month. Much attention will be given to the ongoing Gulf crisis during the visit. Russia has firmly urged the countries involved to abandon confrontational rhetoric and instead settle the dispute through negotiations and compromise solutions. Russia supports Kuwait’s mediation towards this end.
